Welcome to The New England Flame

Who we are.
We are an online newspaper providing you with great features, columns and news. The New England Flame is helping promote unity among the people of our region. It is our desire to provide you with hope and direction, at the same time offering you articles, news, columns and help by people here in New England who care about our region.

A couple of your first stops here might be the "What's New?" page and our blog. Both of those will give you an idea of what is happening here at The New England Flame.

The sun was shining and the temperature rose into the 60's here in Vermont. Despite chores(That did get done!), we were able to get the motocycle out and cruise up along Route 5 where the Connecticut River was in full roar. Cutting across towards Mount Ascutney, we enjoyed a great time out. Even though the temperature occasionally dropped to 60 and the snow was still in the mountains. It is spring time. (For some more about the weather and what is going on daily...)

While Spring is officially "here," the manifestation of it has been lagging a little behind in parts of New England. I finally got the snow shoveled and began sweeping the drive way area. (So, I would not slip on the bike!) It is already starting to get beautiful here.

Many of you have finished your spring skiing and are working on your spring cleaning. It is interesting that here in Vermont, you can see the tiger lilies pushing out against the house, while four foot snow banks block late day sun.

So, while the days grow longer and the temperature warmer, it is the hope of He who is coming that makes it worth the wait.

The Hand of God
Little Philip was spending the weekend with his grandmother after a particularly trying week in infant school. His grandmother decided to take him to the park on Saturday morning. It had been snowing all night and everything was beautiful. His grandmother commented,
"Doesn't it look like an artist painted this scenery? Did you know God painted this just for you?"
"Yes," replied Philip, "God did it and he did it left handed."

This confused his grandmother so she asked him, "What makes you say God did this with his left hand?" "Well," said Philip, 'we learned at Sunday School last week that Jesus sits on God's right hand."

Mission:
It is the mission of New England Flame to uplift and encourage our readers by providing them with tools, principles and stories that bring them a sense of the kingdom of God without being overly religious or “churchy”.

I would like to take a few moments to share with you some things we have seen in business and ask you to consider the following.

Many things have changed in our business world since we were originally given the vision for The New England Flame. We did not know what the Lord really had for us. We made mistakes and finally came to the place where we asked "is this really you?" We had spent a lot of money to produce the paper and were not seeing results. So, I kept the web site up, but put down the print version. And considered it "dead," other than the monthly payments. And then the last few months we received many inquiries regarding The New England Flame. So many in fact, that I began to follow the web stats. And it inspired me to begin "cleaning" it up. There were a lot of people coming to the site. Not hundreds, but thousands. We have picked up some new advertisers and believe that there are more on the way. In the next few months we will be devoting time, energy and money to the restoration of the site. This includes: new rates, more advertising opportunities, upgraded columns and a renewed dedication to the vision we were originally given. We envision, that in the near future we will have the print issue out as well.

And to that end we would like to ask you to review and consider the following thoughts we address here.
